1. WHAT IS PHOTOREJUVENATION?

Photorejuvenation is a non-ablative skin rejuvenation treatment using pulses of intense light or laser light energy to simultaneously repair collagen in the dermis while erasing signs of aging in the epidermis. It improves facial redness, flushing, fine vessels, pigment problems and sun damage. At the same time new collagen growth is stimulated to improve skin texture, increase skin smoothness and reduce pore size. It is also known as “photofacial” or skin rejuvenation.

2. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF PHOTOREJUVENATION?

Photorejuvenation is for anyone who desire skin rejuvenation without downtime and is suitable for someone who cannot take time off from work

It will benefit imperfections from sun damage and photoaging, facial redness and flushing, broken veins and capillaries, abnormal pigments, freckles, uneven skin tone and age spots, fine wrinkling and skin roughness, enlarged pores and some stretch marks.

The M22 OPT lumenis is named after Messier 22 (or M22 or NGc 6656), one of the brightest cluster of stars in the night sky. The M22 uses an advanced technology to deliver pulses of intense light for photorejuvenation. It is not a laser treatment. Instead it uses a broad band of intense light with a range of wavelengths to target different skin conditions at the same time.

2. WHAT IS THE OPT OR OPTIMAL PULSE TECHNOLOGY?

Optimal Pulse Technology is a unique technology where pulses of lights are delivered in equal square wave form, delivering consistent, homogeneous energy during treatment. The OPT allows for effective and safe removal of signs of sun damage and photoaging, facial redness and flushing, broken veins and capillaries, abnormal pigments, freckles, uneven skin tone and age spots, fine wrinkling and skin roughness, enlarged pores and some stretch marks

Each light pulse penetrates tissue and creates a controlled destruction to the imperfections (like pigments, redness, veins) while leaving the surrounding healthy skin unaffected. The body’s natural process will then remove the destructed tissue from the treated area. Collagen stimulation occurs, and the new cell growth in the deep dermal layers results in a visible improvement of skin tone, texture and appearance.

5. WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING OPT LUMENIS PHOTOREJUVENAION?

You will be asked to wear a pair of dark glasses to protect your eyes from the bright light. A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated and the OPT hand piece is gently applied to the skin to deliver pulses of light. Immediately after the light exposure, the area may feel sensitive and warm. Brown spots may appear darker. There may be a slight redness or blotchiness to the skin. This usually disappears after an hour. Visible vessels may be more apparent after treatment, or may be less apparent immediately. Some swelling may be present. It is often described as a mild sting, or as a rubber band flicked against the skin. This subsides almost immediately. An anaesthetic cream may be applied prior to treatment to take away any discomfort.

7. HOW LONG IS EACH OPT LUMENIS PHOTOREJUVENATION TREATMENT?

Typically, a whole face treatment will take 10-15 minutes while multiple sites can take longer

Key points
1. Improve skin imperfections
2. Maintain healthy skin
3. Delay skin aging

1. WHAT IS BBL SCITON PHOTOREJUVENATION?

BBL Sciton Photorejuvenation uses a broad band light (BBL) to rejuvenate skin. The BBL broadband light energy allows Dr Joyce Lim to precisely target and eliminate unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions and many of the fine vessels that cause redness. The BBL light energy will also gently heat up the upper layers of your skin thereby stimulating your skin cells to generate new collagen, giving your rejuvenated skin a smoother and more vibrant glow.

2. HOW DOES THE BBL BROADBAND LIGHT TECHNOLOGY WORK?

The BBL broadband light utilizes the power of pulsed light to deliver excellent phototherapy results. By selecting the appropriate wavelength or filter, Dr Joyce Lim will be able to treat a broad range of skin conditions caused by skin aging and sun exposure. The light energy delivered by the BBL gently heats the upper layers of the skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas coagulates tissue to variable depth. This process helps restore the skin to its natural stage. In addition, the photothermal energy targets and eliminates many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions.

3. WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE BBL SCITON PHOTOTREJUVENATION?

Your eyes will be protected with safety shields. A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated and the BBL handpiece is gently applied to the skin to deliver pulses of light. 5. WHAT MUST I DO AFTER THE BBL SCITON TREATMENT?

You may be given some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until full recovery. Protect your skin with a good sunscreen whenever you go outdoors.

6. HOW MANY TREATMENTS OF BBL SCITON PHOTOREJUVENATION WILL I NEED?

A series of 3 to 5 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart is typical of most patients. Dr Joyce Lim will personalize the BBL treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire.

» Pulse Dye V beam Laser Photorejuvenation?

1. WHAT IS THE PULSE DYE V BEAM LASER?

The Pulse Dye V Beam laser is a non invasive laser that delivers an intense but gentle burst of light into selectively target areas of the skin. It is the laser of choice to treat red birthmarks, enlarged blood vessels, facial veins and rosacea. It can also remove brown pigmentation, wrinkles and improve skin texture and firmness.

2. HOW DOES THE PULSE LASER DYE V BEAM WORK?

Laser or light energy is selectively absorbed by the oxyhemoglobin in red blood cells resulting in heating of the blood vessels. With the correct wavelengths and fluence, the vascular lesion will be heated to above 70 degrees C. At that temperature, blood vessels will shrink which leads to a reduction of the vascular lesion. As the Pulse Dye V Beam laser light is absorbed by the blood vessels within the skin, there is a release of growth factors. The growth factors stimulate collagen growth and results in improvement of fine lines, pore size and skin texture and firmness. The blood vessels diminished in size and the skin redness improved. Brown spots can also be removed by the Pulse Dye V Beam laser light.

3. WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING PULSE DYE V BEAM LASER PHOTOREJUVENATION?

During the procedure, your eyes will be protected by safety goggles. No anaesthesia is required. The laser delivers a cooling mist on to the skin before the laser pulse is emitted. This cooling mist increases comfort during treatment as well as protects the skin to minimise side-effects like redness. During treatment, you will feel a warming or tingling sensation or a sensation like a small rubber band hitting the skin.

4. WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER PULSE DYE V BEAM LASER TREATMENT>?
