Corns and Calluses are thick, hardened layers of skin that develop on toes, feet and hands. They are formed when there is too much friction or pressure on the skin for an extended period of time and the skin harden to protect itself. They can be painful and cause discomfort especially during walking.
Treatment of Corns and Calluses
- Par the area with a pumice stone or a callus file to eliminate the thickened skin.
- Pad and shield the area from friction or pressure with insoles or corn cushions
- Topical creams
- Surgical removal
